From the Services screen you may select the following: Border Wait Times, Economic Indicators, Exchange Rates, Currency Converter, Canadian Hurricane Centre and News.

1. Border Wait Times

Access the estimated wait times for crossing the Canada-United States land border at certain Customs Office border locations. The Canada Border Services Agency provides this information.

A scroll down list of the provinces will be shown; scroll to your selection.

Scroll to the Customs Office of your choice.

The estimated border wait time will be displayed.

2. Exchange Rates

From this service you can access the Bank of Canada Exchange Rates. Bank of Canada exchange rates are nominal quotations - neither buying nor selling rates - and are intended for statistical or analytical purposes. Rates available from financial institutions will differ. Rates are expressed in Canadian dollars, converted from US dollars.

The noon rates are obtained from market or official sources around noon, and are updated at about 1 p.m. EST the same business day. The closing rates are based on official parities or market rates, and are updated at about 4:15 p.m. EST the same business day.

REMINDER: To ensure access to most current page, refresh your browser as rates are updated on a regular basis.

3. Currency Converter

From this service you can access conversions (to and from Canadian dollars) based on the Bank of Canada's nominal noon exchange rates, which are published each business day at about 1 p.m. EST.

This screen displays the currency converter. Currency may be changed from foreign currency to Canadian currency or from Canadian currency to foreign currency.

Select a currency (listed in alphabetical order) that you wish to convert.

From this screen enter the amount to convert.

This screen displays how the conversion will appear.

4. Government of Canada Newsroom

Select News to access Government of Canada news releases, media advisories and background news information in real-time.

5. Economic Indicators

Find information on Canada's Economic Indicators from this service.

To access this service from the main menu, scroll to "Economic Indicators" and select that option. The screen will display Canada's latest population figure, the unemployment and inflation rates and the Real Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Statistics Canada provides this information.
